Role Overview:

Could you be our next Director of Vendor Risk Management? Globe Life is looking for a Director of Vendor Risk Management to join the team!

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of risk managers in assessing the potential impacts of our vendor’s business processes to the Company’s regulatory compliance, privacy, security, and operational resiliency through the consistent application of industry recognized risk management frameworks. This role requires a strong understanding of risk frameworks, program management, and communicating key risk indicators to business leaders. This position collaborates with other risk and compliance functions including Enterprise Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Information Security, Privacy, and Information Technology.

 

This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

 

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business owners, operational leaders, IT leaders and second line leaders in departments like Enterprise Risk Management, Information Security, and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Keep up to date of industry best practices and emerging trends in third-party management, risk resiliency, governance processes, regulatory requirements, and responsible sourcing.
  • Participate in the vendor renewal process.
  • Responsible for designing and leading the vendor partner tier analysis, establishing vendor partner metrics, balancing vendor risk, and determining vendor value to the organization.
  • Responsible for designing and developing the RFI/RFP process requirements to be led by Procurement.
  • Provide leadership and oversee the third-party risk management team, while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of the latest developments related to the vendor risk management industry, including GRC enterprise monitoring software.
  • Maintain an understanding of applicable Federal and State guidelines and regulations related to managing Third-Party risk.
  • Provide summary risk ratings and periodic reporting to business owners regarding vendor risks in their portfolio of relationships.
  • Ensure business’s adherence to the Vendor Risk Management Policy and procedures.
  • Implement continuous improvement of the Vendor Risk Management process.
  • Ensure stakeholders receive proper training regarding vendor risk management processes, procedures and requirements.
  • Support ongoing development, updating and refinement of the Vendor Risk Management policy, procedures and related processes.

 

 What You Can Bring:

  • BA/BS required in business, accounting, finance or related field.
  • 7+ years relevant experience in the financial services industry or related field.
  • Related work experience could include Risk Management, Vendor Management and Compliance.
  • Understanding of federal and state insurance cybersecurity regulations a plus (i.e., specifically New York Department of Financial Services).
  • 5-7 years of TPRM experience - methods and techniques for the assessment and management of risk.
  • Ability to operate as a self-motivated, pro-active, and result-driven problem solver with excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand IT business processes, management objectives, risk appetite and tolerances and impact of changes to risk profiles.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a focus on data-driven decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Strong program management skills and the ability to hold others accountable for deliverables to ensure program plan timelines are met.
  • Experience in IT governance and controls, including governance framework.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage rapidly changing priorities and opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Customer oriented mindset with a drive to deliver high quality results.
  • Solid technical skills in the use of Microsoft desktop tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).

Savings and Investment Plan (401K) - Eligible employees may begin participating in the plan on the first day of employment.

Pension Plan - Eligible employees who complete one year of service with the Company become participants in the Pension.* (Not available to Cleveland Employees)

Medical - Benefits are available to all eligible employees and qualified dependents the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Dental** and Vision - Eligible employees and qualified dependents are able to enroll the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) - Our FSA has two components, Health Care and Dependent Care Accounts. These accounts allow employees to set aside a portion of their earnings on a pre-tax basis to cover out-of-pocket medical and dependent care expenses. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service.

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - A pre-tax Health Spending Account (HSA) is offered to those who enroll in the High Deductible Plan. It allows you to pay for health care expenses. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service. Company contributes to HSA.

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).
