Contract Manager (Hybrid)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

In this role, the Contract Manager will contribute to all aspects of the strategic sourcing processes including market opportunity identification, strategy and portfolio development, contract negotiations, participate in the legal review process and contract implementation. The Contract Manager must have working knowledge of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) and diversity initiatives.

Working directly with the Director of Contract Management, you will actively participate in the contract renewal and competitive bid process while utilizing and developing effective negotiation skills. This role will manage priorities identified by the Director of Contract Management and develop contracting strategies to reduce spend, improve operational efficiencies, and maximize internal stakeholder satisfaction. You will drive operational excellence and continuous improvement while being part of an environment where team members can grow, learn, do their best work, and feel appreciated.  This position is a hybrid role with an onsite schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) located in our corporate office in McKinney, Texas, (Monday, Friday) work from home.

 

  • Competitively source technology spend through engagement of strategic suppliers and application of industry knowledge.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Contract Management, facilitate the competitive bid process to include market research, design bid requirements and decision scorecards (with input for business), issue bid documents, facilitate all vendor Q&A, financial analysis, formal award decisions/announcements) and post award vendor management.
  • Draft, negotiate, project manage and execute contractual documents including but not limited to master service agreements, statements of work, letter agreements, NDAs, and purchase orders, etc.
  • Measure and manage vendor performance relative to contracted service levels and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Resolve strategic supplier performance issues to ensure internal customer satisfaction.
  • Work with Third Party Management on annual credit card spend migration projects.
  • Work with Third Party Management to complete missing master contracts for current vendors.
  • Act as Procurement point of contact for CAIDS (California) and ESG.
  • Identify and convert specific vendors from credit card payment to company purchase order and invoice.
  • Utilizes the appropriate support tools to drive results and deliver savings.
  • Responsible for ad hoc duties/projects as assigned by leadership.
  • Summarize and present business cases and agreements for executive review and approval.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings across the company to include the department of Information Technology.
  • Work under "hybrid" office model within the encouraged work hours and schedule including required meetings and timely attendance.
  • Work performed primarily in an office environment, consisting of light to moderate physical activity, including use of computer, telephone and/or other office equipment.

Required Skills

  • Experience with ESG and DEI vendors.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in competitive bidding, and management of high profile agreements.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate information clearly and concisely at multiple levels, adapting easily to change.
  • Advanced strategic sourcing skills: Ability to manage multiple category strategies; RFP / RFI / RFQ, contract negotiations, vendor lifecycle management, understanding of risk mitigation principles, and understanding of various cost evaluation methods (TCO, ROI, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal, written presentation skills.

Required Knowledge & Experience

  • BA/BS in business or related field.
  • 5 year’s experience in technology contracting, strategic sourcing or similar role.
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) - Our FSA has two components, Health Care and Dependent Care Accounts. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service.

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - A pre-tax Health Spending Account (HSA) is offered to those who enroll in the High Deductible Plan. It allows you to pay for health care expenses. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service. Company contributes to HSA.

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
