Role Overview:

Could you be our next Product Manager? Globe Life is looking for multiple Product Managers to join the team!

 

In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the business domain relative to the products you manage and partner with Globe Life’s product business sponsors to manage intake, prioritization, and build roadmaps to convey commitments for delivery. The Product Manager must work alongside the business sponsor to identify the right enhancements and changes to our systems to enable our business strategy and consult with the BTL to align their product roadmap against the overarching Portfolio roadmap.

 

This role must utilize a consultative and value-driven approach to establish and maintain strong partnerships, serving as the accountable delivery leader for their application(s). This also means creating a strong relationship with all engineering/delivery leaders to ensure that product roadmaps are delivered upon as promised, coordinating all elements across delivery teams to ensure the expected output occurs and, more importantly, that value outcomes are achieved. The Product Manager will oversee all intake for their product(s), coordinate prioritization and provide estimates.

 

This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

 

What You Will Do:

  • High level of collaboration on product decisions and prioritization with business sponsor.
  • Enable iterative implementations to solicit stakeholder feedback early and often.
  • Support scrum master and development leads to proactively identify dependencies, constrained resources, and navigate through development roadblocks.
  • Accountability for working with product teams to help develop capabilities and solutions to address requirements and achieve desired customer outcomes.
  • Coordinate backlog refinement sessions with business sponsor to maintain a consistently up-to-date, prioritized backlog of clearly defined features/stories.
  • Collaborate with Agile development teams on sprint definition, backlog prioritization, development, and release of MVPs
  • Maintain product roadmaps (commitments) based on delivery team capacity and sprint plans, KPI’s, measures of product success, and socialize with business sponsor.
  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders, technical architects, and engineering to develop the best solution options.
  • Ensure governance, standards and best practices are adhered to across all team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement for delivery processes and prioritized initiatives.
  • Develop an understanding of the data, privacy and architecture standards and concepts that inform the changes going into the product backlog/roadmaps.
  • Understand Information Security priorities and effectively bridge the gap between our business and IT teams with plans to manage and mitigate risk for Globe Life.
  • IT Value Delivery – Summarize quarter/year in review and support business sponsor in crafting value creation story for products. Important that this story substantiates continued investment in the product.

 

What You Can Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, business, or equivalent related field.
  • At least 1 year product management or related experience OR a strong track record of customer-centric thinking that indicates future success in this role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relationship building and collaboration skills across diverse and matrixed stakeholders and customers.
  • Strong project management skills to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead a constructive retrospective session with respect to processes, tools, practices and outcomes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, including experience interpreting data, sometimes with limited context and direction.
  • Demonstrated success in defining and building products.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated capability to make timely prioritization decisions to ensure projects meet critical business needs and timelines.
  • Experience in translating user needs into technical user stories.
  • Familiarity with Agile software delivery practices and expectations. Working knowledge of various SDLC processes and methodologies is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to influence multi-disciplinary teams and develop strong partnerships across functions to drive measurable results.
  • Acumen in financial management with experience managing cash budget of $500k+.
  • Strong communication skills with VP-level customers.
  • Possess and maintain a high level of personal integrity and collaboration.

Savings and Investment Plan (401K) - Eligible employees may begin participating in the plan on the first day of employment.

Pension Plan - Eligible employees who complete one year of service with the Company become participants in the Pension.* (Not available to Cleveland Employees)

Medical - Benefits are available to all eligible employees and qualified dependents the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) - Our FSA has two components, Health Care and Dependent Care Accounts. These accounts allow employees to set aside a portion of their earnings on a pre-tax basis to cover out-of-pocket medical and dependent care expenses. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service.

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - A pre-tax Health Spending Account (HSA) is offered to those who enroll in the High Deductible Plan. It allows you to pay for health care expenses. Company contributes to HSA.

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning.
