Role Overview:

Could you be our next Vendor Risk Management Analyst? Globe Life is looking for a Vendor Risk Management Analyst to join the team!

 

In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with internal business units, and vendors to create transparency into the regulatory compliance, consumer privacy, and operational resiliency risks posed by various suppliers and third parties.  Additionally, this role will assist the Director, Vendor Risk Management in identifying and compiling Key Risk Indicators for partners and stakeholders. Key partners and stakeholders in this process will be Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Information Security, Privacy and business leaders across the extended enterprise.

 

This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

 

What You Will Do:

  • Partner closely with key stakeholders to conduct risk assessments of our vendors through the application of established criteria.
  • Discuss the results of risk assessments with business leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare dashboards of periodic reviews.
  • Partner with Business Owners and the Onboarding Analyst to ensure third parties are properly classified based on the inherent and residual risks for the products/services provided to Globe Life.
  • Develop a working knowledge of applicable regulations governing third party relationships to ensure that the third parties and Globe Life meets all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Develop a risk register that defines the risk management program to address potential vulnerabilities across each core risk area, including financial, compliance, and operational risks.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality risk assessment documentation covering findings, risk statements, risk ratings, justifications and recommendations in the vendor management tool and risk register.
  • Design and facilitate vendor risk assessments for initial due diligence and ongoing oversight of vendor services to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts across the second line of defense risk and compliance departments to ensure assessments are aligned to the most recent regulatory changes and threats.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to mitigate and resolve third-party risks in the development of corrective action plans.
  • Monitor the execution of corrective action and evaluate the residual risk.
  • Maintain risk assessment training and documentation materials.
  • Identify Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and work with the Director for further development of possible mitigation.
  • Drive process improvements to continuously mature the Vendor Risk Management program and framework.
  • Assist with the communication, training and roll out of new TPRM processes to the various stakeholders across multiple lines of business.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary training to keep current on the discipline of Vendor Risk Management.
  • Train and mentor the Vendor Risk Analyst’s AI.
  • Provide coaching to Vendor Risk Analysts in the conduct of complex or mission-critical vendor assessments.

 

What You Can Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management or any other quantitative based degree.
  • 4-5+ years of vendor risk management experience.
  • Working knowledge of fundamental risk principles and leading practices (industry certifications a plus).
  • Knowledge of and experience in designing and operating third party risk management governance frameworks and processes to comply with regulatory requirements, guidance, and oversight applicable to the financial services industry.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and organization skills.
  • Ability to generate ideas for and support continuous improvement in the department.
  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize work; must be able to juggle multiple tasks, tight deadlines and changing priorities and will meet deliverables on time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient PC skills, specifically with business-oriented applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial service, insurance or health care industry.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision.
