Role Overview:
Could you be our next Sr. IT Audit Manager? Globe Life is looking for a Sr. IT Audit Manager to join the team!
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of IT audit professionals while executing complex audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires defining and managing IT audits as part of the annual audit plan, with particular focus on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance reviews and system control evaluations.
This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, Texas (WFH Monday and Friday, in-office Tuesday through Thursday).
What You Will Do:
- Collaborates in the development of the IT audit plan and execution of the audit strategy by the team.
- Defines, executes, and manages complex IT audits to ensure completion of the annual audit plan.
- Obtains, analyzes, and appraises internal system controls for adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency, while evaluating the controls compliance with established policies, procedures, and plans.
- Actively engages with other leaders in the department’s completion of the company's annual Sarbanes-Oxley compliance review.
- Reports engagement observations to IA management with constructive recommendations for improving operations and controls, promoting growth, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Consistently communicates and documents any potential audit issues to department executive leadership in a timely and proactive manner.
- Performs special reviews and audits at the request of executive leadership.
- Identifies risks within a process/functional area and recommends controls for mitigation.
- Performs review of project roadmaps for IT systems’ implementations, updates, and extensions; to be followed by a post-implementation audit of project controls and execution, questioning any differences or pivots.
- Provide expert-level consultation on risk assessment and mitigation.
- Lead, direct, and develop a team of auditors for individual growth and cross-training capabilities.
- Cultivate technical competencies within the team and the greater IA department.
- Other duties as assigned or needed.
What You Can Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Finance, Audit, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in the above fields preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the audit profession, with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on IT audit experience preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in an audit leadership role, with a minimum of 5 years leading an IT audit team /or program.
- Prior experience working in a large accounting firm, preferred; Big Four experience is a strong plus.
- Obtained or working towards certifications such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) and/or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
- Strong technical knowledge and an in-depth acumen of techniques and tools utilized during audits.
- Knowledge and adherence to Internal Audit professional standards.
- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks using problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical language for non-technical personnel.
- Proven experience with planning, leading, executing, and reporting on audits.
- Strong leader with the ability to mentor and coach the team to success and growth.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience using generative AI to supplement deliverables.
