Role Overview:

Could you be our next Accounting Clerk Specialist II? Globe Life is looking for an Accounting Clerk Specialist II to join the team!

 

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, balancing, and making deposits for various companies utilizing remote deposit online service platforms. Oversee refunds deposits and enter all deposits and adjustments into the ERP system. Maintain and distribute daily log sheets to multiple departments.

Perform reconciliation of numerous ledger suspense accounts using a reconciliation system in accordance with SOX documentation. Index departmental ledger entries into OnBase. Maintain supplier in the vendor system and aid the General Ledger Manager with various daily tasks.

 

This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

 

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare, balance, and make deposits for New Business, Special Markets, Annuities, Military, Claims ACH, PPOs, and Claims Refunds for various companies.
  • Access processed reports from OnBase to balance various payments.
  • Prepare, balance, and deposit miscellaneous checks from various departments using remote deposit online services.
  • Correspond with other departments to resolve imbalances; transmit deposits to various bank accounts using remote deposit services once balanced.
  • Prepare journal entries for deposits and adjustments, recording them in ERP system.
  • Retrieve information from OnBase reports to prepare spreadsheets for various companies, distributing them to multiple departments.
  • Record or import various adjustment journal entries from different departments into the ERP system.
  • Verify and commit completed journal entries to OnBase for audit backup.
  • Maintain the ERP AP Vendor system, including adding new vendors, updating current vendor information, inactivating vendors, and merging vendor information.
  • Reconcile multiple suspense accounts using the Trintech reconciliation system, including researching outstanding balances and taking proactive measures to clear them.
  • Learn other desks within the team to provide coverage during team members' time away from the office.
  • Assist the General Ledger Manager and other department team members as needed.
  • Monitor bank exceptions.
  • Prepare and deposit checks using remote deposit online systems.
  • Prepare and complete journal entries in ERP General Ledger system.
  • Reconciliation of multiple suspense accounts including research to clear any outstanding balances.
  • Cover other employee’s duties during time away from the office.
  • Assist General Ledger Manager as needed

 

What You Can Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting/finance preferred.
  • Two to five years of general accounting experience and/or training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to set up spreadsheets for balancing.
  • Experienced with Excel add-ins for accounting systems.
  • Typing speed of 40-55 words per minute.
  • High proficiency in 10-key with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with the Lawson system is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
