Role Overview:
Could you be our next Business Analyst? Globe Life is looking for a Business Analyst to join the team!
In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities related to planning, development, deployment, and support of new and existing projects that impact multiple business units and business processes.
This is a remote / work-from-home position.
What You Will Do:
- Project Collaboration & Management
- Cross-functional teamwork: Partner with project team members throughout all initiative phases from planning to implementation.
- Milestone tracking: Monitor project completion milestones and track the entire product/service lifecycle.
- Issue management: Provide timely reporting on issues impacting project progress and coordinate resolution actions.
- Conflict resolution: Address and resolve conflicts that arise during project execution.
- Analysis & Information Management
- Critical evaluation: Assess information from multiple sources and reconcile any conflicting data.
- Requirements analysis: Break down high-level information into detailed requirements.
- Needs assessment: Distinguish between what users request versus their underlying true business needs.
- Documentation: Document, prioritize, and track all project requests and requirements.
- Strategic Collaboration
- Business unit partnership: Work with all functional business units to achieve strategic, tactical, and project objectives.
- Technical collaboration: Partner with developers and subject matter experts to establish technical vision.
- Trade-off analysis: Analyze and balance trade-offs between usability requirements and performance needs.
- Meeting & Communication Management
- Project meetings: Conduct regular project meetings and team reviews.
- Deliverable reviews: Meet with project teams to review deliverables and ensure deadlines are met.
- Prototype reviews: Coordinate periodic reviews of prototypes and final products with appropriate personnel.
- Multi-level facilitation: Facilitate meetings across all organizational levels.
- Testing & Quality Assurance
- Test planning: Serve as a consultant to business units in developing user acceptance test plans and procedures.
- End user testing: Ensure comprehensive end-user testing is conducted.
- Documentation standards: Verify all tests are documented according to agreed-upon standards between business units and IT.
- Reporting & Communication
- Status reporting: Provide regular status updates and comprehensive reporting on assigned projects.
- Progress tracking: Monitor and communicate project progress to stakeholders.
- Change Management & Business Analysis
- Business transition support: Support organizations through business transitions and help establish change initiatives.
- Current state analysis: Conduct interview sessions to understand existing business and data processes.
- Process documentation: Document business processes using flow diagram tools such as Microsoft Visio.
What You Can Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Information Systems (IS), Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on Visio experience.
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience, with sensitivity and commitment to business problem solving.
- 5+ years working in a corporate office.
- Must be able to see the big picture while having an exceptionally detail-oriented focus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with experience in meeting deadlines.
- Experience managing multiple projects with the ability to make changes when needed.
- Experience working in both team and individual environments.
- Experience working with senior decision makers.
- Strong technical, interpersonal, and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Intermediate-Advanced proficiency with Excel.
- Intermediate-Advanced proficiency with Flowcharts.
- Experience in business and the data mapping process lifecycle.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, Tableau, and Salesforce is a plus.
