Technical Business Analyst II (Hybrid)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The Technical Business Analyst II position is responsible for a full range of activities related to the planning, design, testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and implementation of development / reporting/ analytics projects that support Globe Direct Response Marketing. The Business Analyst in this role is expected to achieve a broad understanding of Globe Life’s Direct Marketing processes and systems to facilitate project completion.

• Should be able to work independently in an agile environment
• Effectively document system specifications and business processes as requested by stakeholders
• Monitor changes to baseline requirements with the use of effective application of change control processes and tools
• Utilize various techniques to define business requirements, user-stories, functional and non-functional technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and report specifications (via diagrams, documents, gap analysis, and/or user stories).
• Review and evaluate requirements to ensure the successful communication of business needs throughout a project
• Ensure the application of the correct technology to solve business problems in the most efficient and appropriate manner
• Collaborate with developers and other subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
• Develop and monitor QA/UAT testing to validate that the delivered solution meets the business needs specified within the requirements.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and help resolve issues during testing and implementation.
• Understand and perform logical queries to facilitate calculations, reporting, and complex formulas, applying the appropriate level of analysis for the task
• Liaison between development, stakeholders, managers
• Serves as project subject matter expert through all stages of the project
• Strictly adhere to the department’s SDLC process throughout all facets of the project.
• Identify, recommend, and implement standardization and industry best practices

Required Skills

• Experience working in Agile/ Scrum teams
• Experience with different project management methodologies
• Working knowledge of various SDLC process and methodologies
• Utilize “big picture” thinking and understanding to business processes, systems, and designs
• Inquisitive and detailed perspective is required
• Able to overcome project obstacles and escalate when appropriate
• Showcase good analytical and evaluative skills in tasks
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Highly skilled in Excel, Word, Visio
• Basic programming knowledge is a plus
• Ability to evaluate and consider multiple perspectives, in order to define a solution that takes into account the many layers of a system from the user interface down to the data layers.

Required Knowledge & Experience

• 4+ years of experience performing technical business analysis
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with different project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum/Waterfall).
• Strong SQL skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Experience writing process flows and requirement documents
• Proven experience in engaging in multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Strong demonstration of the skills to align business needs with IT capabilities
• Life insurance, Direct Marketing background and experience preferred
• Certification in Business Analysis or Scrum Master preferred

Company contributes to HSA.

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
