Privacy Analyst

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Privacy Manager, the Privacy Analyst will support all aspects of the Privacy Program related to federal law requirements and state privacy laws, including but not limited to: Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Corruption, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and New Zealand Privacy Act. This individual will analyze, prioritize, and convert information into knowledge to ensure successful privacy operations. They will provide privacy leaders with accurate, timely, and relevant information to enable informed decisions.  Some travel may be required 

Job Duties:

  • Ensure privacy forms, policies, standards, and procedures are up-to-date, accurate, and within risk tolerance levels
  • Perform initial and periodic information privacy risk assessment/analysis, mitigation and remediation
  • Conduct related ongoing privacy compliance monitoring activities in coordination with the organization's other compliance and operational assessment functions
  • Ensure the organization has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consents, authorization forms, information notices and other materials reflecting current organization and legal practices and requirements
  • Work cross functionally with Security, IT, Infrastructure, Data Governance, Compliance, and Sales to provide guidance on effectiveness of privacy controls
  • Support privacy outreach and awareness-building
  • Assist with administrative aspects of privacy requests (logging, tracking, and coordination)
  • Initiate, facilitate and promote activities to foster information privacy awareness within the organization and related entities.
  • Provide guidance to internal business partners regarding compliance with privacy regulations (SME)
  • Coordinate and collaborate with regulatory and compliance functions.
  • Conduct data privacy impact assessments
  • Perform and provide recommendations on privacy processes around Privacy Incident Investigations and Response, Privacy Program Assurance and Audits, Privacy Impact and Risk Assessments, and Stakeholder Communication and Management under the guidance of the privacy manager.
  • Research and stay current with privacy related news and changes to policies
  • Stay informed on applicable privacy laws and accreditation standards.
  • Research applicable laws, regulations, and standards that Globe Life must comply with and communicate effectively and proactively with ideas and recommendations for optimizing business operations, resources and capacity to meet internal and external compliance goals


Required Skills

  • Communicate clear and precise explanations of team policies and protocols
  • High technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to use combination of analysis, experience and judgment to develop feasible solutions
  • Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to work under multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A high level of integrity and trust
  • Familiar with relevant legislation and standards for the protection of information

Required Knowledge & Experience


  • BA or BS in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years in a Privacy and/or GRC related role
  • Experience building and implementation risk programs
  • Experience with major compliance audits (CCPA, PIPEDA, GDPR, HIPAA, New Zealand: Privacy Act, Information Privacy Principles, and Codes of Practice)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CIPP/US certification from IAPP
  • CIPP/C certification from IAPP
  • 3+ years in a Privacy and/or GRC related role
  • Experience with FAIR(Factor Analysis of Information Risk)

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - A pre-tax Health Spending Account (HSA) is offered to those who enroll in the High Deductible Plan. It allows you to pay for health care expenses. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service. Company contributes to HSA.

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
