Building Maintenance Technician

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Immediate opportunity available for a Building Maintenance Technician.

Globe Life is seeking a full time Building Maintenance Technician for our Oklahoma City production facility location

Primary Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Daily Duties: Checking and stocking towel and tissue dispensers as needed. Taking and distributing the daily pouch mail. Checking a stocking coffee supplies as needed. Checking emails for building maintenance requests. Responding to building maintenance requests from management and others. Setting out the Downtown Globe Pouch material for pickup.
  • Weekly Duties : Checking and stocking all first aid stations. Changing JDS machine filters. Cleaning up outside break area twice weekly. Picking up trash outside building twice weekly. Making parts and supply runs for building maintenance and other departments. Running the floor scrubber in various parts of the building.
  • Monthly Duties: Safety checks of all fire extinguishers, water risers, eye wash stations, and emergency lights. Turn on and check all outside lighting. Inspect all AC unit filters and replace if needed.
  • As needed items. Change light bulbs throughout building as needed. Make small plumbing repairs/replacements as needed. patch and repair drywall as needed. Paint walls as needed. Contact Building Maintenance Vendors as needed. Make small AC repairs as needed. Build and construct items and spaces as needed. Set up or move tables, chairs, and cubicles as needed. Make runs to the Post Office to deliver mail as needed. Spread salt and sand in bad weather. Any other items deemed necessary by management.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.



  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.-1st Shift
  • Overtime as needed

Required Skills

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Able to read and write in a neat and accurate manner
  • Able to work with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good verbal, written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work professionally work with all levels of staff, including Executive Management, across all departments
  • Works with other departments/company affiliates as needed
  • Reliable and predictable attendance of your assigned shift
  • Ability to work Full-Time and/or Part-Time based on the specific position for which you're applying


Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. on a regular basis, up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to stand, bend, kneel for prolong periods of time.
  • Production facility environment.
  • Fast-paced atmosphere.



Required Knowledge & Experience

Education & Work Experience required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous Forklift certification/able to be Forklift Certified
  • Previous Scissor Lift experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in Building Maintenance or as a Handy Man.

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - A pre-tax Health Spending Account (HSA) is offered to those who enroll in the High Deductible Plan. It allows you to pay for many of the health care expenses not covered by your medical plan including deductibles and co-pays. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service. Company contribution to HSA ($4500 family, $2500 single plans)

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
