IT Sr Business Systems Analyst (Remote or Hybrid)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:
Globe Life Insurance is looking for talented and motivated individuals who want to be a member of the IT Business Systems Analysis and Quality Assurance teams. The PAS Business Analysis/Technical Analyst position is an active member of a PAS Product Team that is responsible for a wide range of activities in all phases of the program lifecycle from gathering and maintaining requirements to providing support to configuration, development and testing teams that drives the successful implementation of the OIPA policy administration system and all ancillary related applications. The BA/TA will possess the ability to learn quickly and contribute immediately to the overall team success by having a broad understanding of business processes across multiple business units and IT systems to ensure successful project outcomes.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize various techniques to elicit and define business requirements, current/future states, functional and non-functional technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and report specifications (via diagrams, documents, gap analysis, and/or user stories)
  • Application of big picture thinking and understanding to business processes, systems, designs and impacts
  • Analyze and provide recommendations to improve current processes
  • Serve as a liaison between business and IT on the PAS Program
  • Facilitate requirement sessions across multiple teams driving optimum outcomes
  • Write clear and effective documents at appropriate level based on audience
  • Proactively communicate with business and leadership stakeholders to ensure requirements are meeting business process expectations
  • Demonstrate strong ownership and consistent delivery of assignments and artifacts required
  • Work in a strong team environment providing high-quality feedback and review of other team members’ work
  • Provide motivation to other team members and act as a coach/mentor to new team members
  • Identify, recommend, and implement BA/TA standardization and industry best practices to achieve better results
  • Overcome project obstacles with ease and escalate quickly when appropriate
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborate and coordinate across the PAS Program Team to identify and resolve issues
  • Maintain documents after refinement sessions in timely manner
  • Review defects and update documentation as required
  • Provide input to development, QA, interface and ancillary teams as needed
  • Create relevant test scenarios, test plans and execute test scripts
  • Multi-task across multiple features and PAS releases

  • Risks that would impact the delivery of the assigned tasks on schedule are immediately communicated to the project management and/or program management team

Required Knowledge & Experience

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years equivalent experience in an IT environment required
  • Life insurance background and experience strongly preferred
  • Oracle OIPA (Oracle Insurance Policy Administration Solution) knowledge a plus
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Certifications in Business Analysis or Scrum Master desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent work experience

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
