IT Technical Lead (Remote or Hybrid)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY


This position reports to the IT Application Manager and is responsible for the application architecture design, development, deployment, and support of new and existing applications and services. The IT Technical Lead participates in all phases of System Development Life Cycle, as needed, applying expert knowledge of system interaction and business familiarity to meet business needs.

The IT Technical Lead will assist in tasks including technical design, API development, ETL, product releases, and engineering tasks. The Technical Lead will also collaborate with different groups including Firewall team, Infrastructure and Security teams to identify and resolve technical and Production issues.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


• Document detailed application specifications; translate technical requirements into programmed application modules; and, develop and enhance software application modules
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with technical/non-technical audiences
• Participate in project planning sessions to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution
• Participate in design reviews and provide input to design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and, provide input to information/data flow
• Document detailed application specifications; translate technical requirements into programmed application modules; and, develop and enhance software application modules
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to predefined architectural specifications. Identify and troubleshoot application code-related issues
• Prepare unit and integration test plans for program changes, and in cooperation with clients and other I.T. personnel, perform the testing
• Review and provide feedback to any required final user documentation
• Work cross-functionally with other team members: other engineers, testers, product owners, designers, Ops, customer support
• Partner with QA, DB, BA/PO and other dependent teams

Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES


• Strong understanding of SOA and RESTful service design and development
• Ability to drive design and architecture discussions across the team, create application architecture documents, and be responsible for high quality and scalable implementation
• Solid analytical and creative problem-solving/trouble shooting skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Identifying, debugging, and advising on system errors or architecture issues
• MS SQL Server, IIS, .NET framework, WCF, Web Services, XML)
• Demonstrated ability to architect, design and lead development of software components through production releases
• Adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques utilizing programming skills and contribute to the technical code base including any required documentation

Preferred:
• Demonstrated ability to write API design specifications using industry standard modeling languages (i.e. RAML, OpenAPI)

Required Knowledge & Experience

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer science or related field
• Experience developing software following an Agile and/or Waterfall methodology
• 8+ years recent hands-on software development work experience in Restful API, C#, .NET, Entity Framework, MVC, WCF, Web Services, XML
• 4+ years’ experience in AWS Services (S3, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, Dynamo DB, Aurora)
• Experience with messaging architectures and enterprise integration patterns
• Exposure to software engineering best practices and design patterns


Preferred:
• 4+ years’ experience working with modern Enterprise Service Bus/iPaaS architectures (i.e. MuleSoft, Informatica, Microsoft)
• 4+ years’ experience in Informatica Cloud, Data and Entity Integration

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - A pre-tax Health Spending Account (HSA) is offered to those who enroll in the High Deductible Plan. It allows you to pay for many of the health care expenses not covered by your medical plan including deductibles and co-pays. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service. Company contribution to HSA ($4500 family, $2500 single plans)

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
