Job Description:
We are the Digital Marketing Direct to Consumer Division of Globe Life, an S&P 500 company. Our rapidly expanding Web Development group in Culver City (Silicon Beach) is looking to hire a sharp Senior Web Developer with 5+ years of experience in Web Development and a strong understanding of DevOps, especially in the AWS platform. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
This hands-on position will be involved in the design, development and maintenance of successful lead generation and online application web sites. This is a senior level position for a software developer who is experienced and proficient in creating high-quality cloud-based web solutions, and is able to identify project requirements, formulate scalable software designs, and create applications in an Agile SDLC environment. This position will also be involved in the design and implementation of infrastructure build, release, and deployment, as well as pipeline automation, optimization and management. Experience with leading a team is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities include:
• Help maintain the current Globe Life web sites, as well as develop new sites based on architected plans and established business rules. The majority of the projects are in PHP and Javascript, though NodeJS and Python are also used
• Work closely with other developers on website changes and new projects
• Setup, maintain, and monitor various pertinent AWS Services
• Document business rules and website logic
• Build, optimize and maintain CI/CD Pipelines
• Maintain and add new services to AWS infrastructure using Terraform
• Help create technical methodologies for engineering solutions
• Update and maintain code based on latest ADA and SEO recommendations
• Develop code securely with awareness of OWASP Top 10
• Reliable and predictable attendance of your assigned shift
• Ability to work Full-Time and/or Part-Time based on the specific position for which you're applying

Required Skills

Required Skills:
• Proficient in backend languages like PHP, Python, NodeJS (PHP 7 and the Laravel framework preferred).
• Proficient in Javascript frontend frameworks like Vue.js, React, and/or Angular
• Proficiency with CSS3, CSS Preprocessors (SASS/LESS) and HTML5
• Proficiency setting up, using, and monitoring various AWS Services (ec2, ECS, ElastiCache, s3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch)
• Proficiency with Git source code management systems (GitHub, AWS CodeCommit)
• Comfortable in a Linux development environment, including shell/bash scripting
• Understanding of cURL and API integrations
• Ability to write SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite)
• Understanding of NoSQL (DynamoDB preferred)
• A solid understanding of web application development processes, from the user-interface (UI/UX) to relational database structures
• Experience with CI/CD Workflows and Docker containers
• Experience with web-service technologies (REST, SOAP)
• Ability to setup, configure, and work in containers (Docker preferred)
• Understanding of ADA and SEO Best Practices
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and handle pressure and deadlines
• Good understanding of Cyber Security for web sites and cloud platforms
• Preferred, but not required: Proficiency using infrastructure as code tools (Terraform preferred)

• At least 5-7 years of experience working on medium-to-high traffic websites.

Company contribution to HSA ($4500 family, $2500 single plans)

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.
