Privacy Architect

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


The Privacy Architect will be responsible for the optimization of the company's use of its information assets by filling gap between policy and technology implementation. This position will ensure delivery of solutions that comply with privacy policies and legal requirements to protect, use, and store the right data for the right amount of time. This position will evangelize and gain support for Privacy by Design. Our goals are to comply with legal requirements timely, minimize risk, reduce cost, and maximize the value of our information resources across the enterprise.



  • Develop and implement solutions to ensure privacy policies are correctly implemented. The implementations should advance compliance with legal forms of data use as well as support business use of data.
  • Work to align advanced technologies and Privacy by Design principles from the first stages of development and ensure that the data use meets established regulatory compliance needs. 
  • Collaborate with business and data owner teams creating new uses of data that employ privacy features.
  • Interacting with internal privacy program managers, product development teams, and information security, legal, and compliance, governance and data protection teams. 
  • Responsible for assisting with the management of the data privacy, data protection, data usability, performance and the integrity of the privacy solution.
  • Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications to new or existing software. 
  • Identify areas of improvement in local practices relative to managing data privacy.
  • Performs regular privacy assessments of operational processes, identifying, and mitigating risks across the company through effective tools, training and guidance
  • Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to key stakeholders
  • Create scalable and sustainable solutions through opportunities that integrate common knowledge, experience, and expertise across agencies
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver data-driven solutions and high-quality recommendations
  • Identify and mitigate risk by performing regular privacy assessments and impact analysis on databases and operational processes by developing effective tools, training, and guidance. This includes data anonymization, pseudonymization and encryption.
  • Work with the legal department to produce data both internally and externally and ensure any legal request or litigation hold requirements are met.
  • Manage small to mid-size projects and enhancements, including gathering requirements, conducting research, task management and updating key partners and stakeholders with the goal of developing solutions to help mitigate privacy vulnerabilities and future privacy risks.


Required Skills


  • Extensive familiarity with relevant legislation and standards for the protection of information
  • Expert knowledge of Privacy by Design(PbD) principles
  • A high level of integrity and trust
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Expert knowledge in privacy outreach and awareness-building.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, task planning and prioritization skills
  • Expert of IT solution architecture

Required Knowledge & Experience



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Assurance or equivalent experience is preferred
  • 3 to 5 years in a Privacy and/or GRC related role
  • CIPP/T certification from IAPP
  • Experience with major compliance audits (CCPA, PIPEDA, GDPR, HIPAA, New Zealand: Privacy Act, Information Privacy Principles, and Codes of Practice)
  • Extensive experience implementing Privacy by Design
  • Extensive experience with Privacy Impact Assessments(PIAs)
  • Experience with FAIR
  • Experience leading and motivating cross functional teams.

Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service. Company contributes to HSA.

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
