Diversity & Inclusion Specialist

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The Diversity & Inclusion Specialist will support a wide variety of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and programs to sustain an environment where employees feel a sense of belonging that empowers them to flourish in their professional careers. This position reports to the Manager of Diversity & Inclusion Programming and will develop and maintain effective practices to support Globe Life’s employee resource groups (ERGs), DEI focused learning and development programs, DEI events and team operations. This position will play an important role in analyzing data, identifying trends, and communicating results.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration, operations and ongoing continuous improvement of DEI programs, including Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and DEI learning resources
  • Organize high volumes of data into concise and robust summaries, by utilizing and creating reporting, dashboards and other illustrations
  • Create insights from data to drive action and make data-informed business recommendations to influence the effectiveness of diversity and inclusion programming
  • Provide recommendations for programming, administration, and operations based upon analysis informed by data, metrics, observations, and outcomes
  • Develop, curate and sustain employee facing resources including but not limited to the intranet site, team communications and ERG support resources
  • Collaborate with leadership, cross functional teams, ERGs and external partners to administer and monitor the effectiveness and success Company initiatives
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness and impact of diversity and inclusion programs and events

Required Skills

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

 

  • Excellent computer skills, including intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
  • Willingness and capacity to learn new tools as needed
  • Ability to provide leadership by influence and work collaboratively on teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to working with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse cultural, disability, ethnic, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Consult effectively and independently with all levels and functional areas of an organization
  • Exceptional communication skills - written, verbal and listening skills
  • Acute attention to detail and robust project administration (follow up skills)
  • Proactive, energetic and creative

 

Required Knowledge & Experience

Education & Work Experience required

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion, Organizational Development or related field; commensurate professional experience may be substituted
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a professional corporate environment, a minimum of 1-year experience in Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion, Talent Management, Marketing, Public Relations or Communications.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diversity and Inclusion Certification
  • HR-related certification
  • Membership in DEI-based organizations

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) - Our FSA has two components, Health Care and Dependent Care Accounts. These accounts allow employees to set aside a portion of their earnings on a pre-tax basis to cover out-of-pocket medical and dependent care expenses. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service.

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - A pre-tax Health Spending Account (HSA) is offered to those who enroll in the High Deductible Plan. It allows you to pay for many of the health care expenses not covered by your medical plan including deductibles and co-pays. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service. Company contribution to HSA ($4500 family, $2500 single plans)

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
