Advanced Analytics Analyst

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Job Summary

This position reports to the Manager of Business Analytics and Strategy, and is responsible for a full range of activities related to data analysis, modeling, planning, development, deployment, and support of new and existing projects impacting multiple businesses units and business processes.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to use predictive modeling, statistics, trend analysis, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, and identify the right data to be analyzed from internal and external sources to explain or predict behavior and or solve a variety of business problems with guidance.
  • Gathering, analyzing and interpreting a wide variety of data to identify causal relationships, trigger points and ultimately make predictions, with guidance.
  • Quantify significance of data variances and applying statistical methods with guidance.
  • Experience with machine learning / AI techniques to build models that support decision making with guidance.
  • Develop with guidance, visualization such as reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids in support of findings.                       
  • Track and analyze business unit trends and make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact the department in order to create new or maximize existing initiatives based on the routine reporting and data that the Analyst manages.
  • Presents findings and insights to management.
  • Advise business partners with regards to patterns and relationships in data to recommend business direction or outcomes.

Required Skills

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to analyze large quantities of data and evaluate, present details, and provide insights
  • Must be able to see the big picture while having an exceptionally detail-oriented focus
  • Strong (Advanced) proficiency with Excel is required
  • Strong SQL knowledge, ability to write/modify queries
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python
  • Experience using Tableau
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with experience in meeting deadlines
  • Experience managing multiple projects with ability to make changes when needed
  • Experience working in both a team and individual environment
  • Strong technical, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

Required Knowledge & Experience

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting or Audit
  • 4+ years’ experience as an Analyst
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize time with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical skills

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - A pre-tax Health Spending Account (HSA) is offered to those who enroll in the High Deductible Plan. It allows you to pay for many of the health care expenses not covered by your medical plan including deductibles and co-pays. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service. Company contribution to HSA ($4500 family, $2500 single plans)

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
