Senior Data Scientist (Hybrid)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Support high level objectives for acquisition, retention, cross-selling, and profitability by identifying, designing, and implementing advanced analytic projects utilizing techniques in statistical modeling and machine learning. Responsible for end-to-end process i.e., strategy to deployment and reporting. Creating a business solution with a holistic view and find effective ways to achieve the end goals.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Implement machine learning and data mining algorithms to build predictive models and reveal insights about our businesses and our customers.
  • Perform complex analyses of target markets and customer behavior.
  • Provide analytic and strategic support to address key questions across a portfolio of businesses.
  • Collect, organize, manipulate, and analyze a wide variety of data (Utilizing SQL, SAS, Python, R, Sagemaker and similar software).
  • Perform clustering and/or segmentation analysis.
  • Design deployment strategies for effective campaign mailing selection processes.
  • Develop effective methods to track, visualize and report model performance to re-strategize future modeling.
  • Build dashboards and infographics on marketing campaign performance to help executives in strategic decision making.
  • Collaborate with the database marketing personnel in the deployment of the models built and in the overall development and refinement of the database marketing strategy.
  • Perform and interpret data studies and product experiments pertaining to new data sources or new uses for existing data sources.
  • Develop prototypes, proof of concepts, algorithms and custom analyses.
  • Research and apply knowledge of emerging data science principles, theories and techniques to make informed business decisions.
  • Mentor team members and take initiative to conceptualize, develop and deploy modeling projects.
  • Leverage AWS Sagemaker, Sagemaker Studio, R, Python, SAS to train and optimize predictive models
  • Build MLOps pipelines and CI/CD pipelines orchestration by GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Circle CI, Airflow or similar tools.

 

 

 

Required Skills

  • Able to deliver a Machine Learning project from beginning to end, including understanding the business need, aggregating data, exploring data, building & validating predictive models, and deploying completed models to deliver business impact to the organization.
  • Experience using tools for machine learning (Python, R, Sagemaker, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Jupyter, SAS etc.) and visualization (Tableau, Quicksight) a must.
  • Intermediate level of experience in database querying (SQL, AWS Data service tools like Glue, Redshift, and Athena).
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms a must.
  • Efficient feature engineering and selection (i.e., data manipulation, variable derivation, transformation, data classification)
  • Experience in cloud-based data science eco-systems in AWS for development and deployment of models along with corresponding native data science tools like AWS SageMaker to build and scale ML pipelines
  • Understanding of Customer Relationship Management theory and practice, including an understanding of segmentation, response modeling, and attrition modeling.
  • Experience with developing MLOps pipelines for machine learning projects.
  • Exposure to cloud computing services such as AWS preferred.
  • Exposure to project management and version control software such as Git/SVN.
  • Experience with productionizing ML or predictive analytics models at scale.
  • Certified in Data Analytics/Machine Learning/Cloud Practitioner with AWS or any similar cloud service is preferred.

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science or Mathematics or a related field and 3 years of data science experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science or Mathematics or a related field and 8 years of data science experience

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
