Visual Content Specialist

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

As part of the Corporate Communications team, the Visual Content Specialist, Corporate Communications oversees multichannel communications that drive employee engagement. Internal communication platforms include digital signage, employee intranet, newsletter, employee alerts, and email. As a brand ambassador, this role must have a strong understanding of Globe Life’s mission and purpose and work to keep them consistent and positive within the Company. 

 

  • Design and distribute content for digital signage, internal communications platforms, intranet sites, and emails
  • Manage content for assigned Marketing channels, suggesting strategic changes and areas for improvement
  • Maintain and update detailed content schedule (weekly, monthly, and yearly)
  • Collaborate frequently with other Marketing Department team members and management to align messaging and communication goals
  • Act as liaison between Corporate Communications team and stakeholders in various levels/roles of the Company
  • Verify communications channels are active and up to date, notifying appropriate team members of any issues
  • Implement feedback and apply style changes to future assignments
  • Proofreads copy to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Adheres to and enforces the department’s style guide and ensures all materials are consistent in grammar, punctuation, formatting, and spelling
  • Contributes to and/or oversees special projects as assigned

Required Skills

  • Strong graphic design, content management, proofreading, employee engagement, and research skills required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with Team across multiple levels
  • Canva, Microsoft 365, SnapComms, and Intranet platforms experience a plus
  • Creative thinker, self-starter, with excellent attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
  • Must be flexible and able to switch focus to different projects when business demands change
  • Ability to prioritize projects, communicate progress and deliver on time
  • Ability to autonomously investigate/research information needed for projects
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels within organization, including senior management

Required Knowledge & Experience

  • B.A. in Communications, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or other relevant degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years relevant work experience as part of employment history.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Windows.
  • Preferred working knowledge of project management, design, and proofing tools.
  • Must have strong project management skills, flexibility to shift focus to different projects depending on business demand, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have portfolio showcasing visual design work

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - A pre-tax Health Spending Account (HSA) is offered to those who enroll in the High Deductible Plan. It allows you to pay for health care expenses. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service. Company contributes to HSA.

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).

Supplemental Plans** - Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident.
