Job Summary

To print Direct Response roll fed jobs for Globe Life according to established SLA’s. To perform and be responsible for weekly print operations on the Color Stream. Will ensure that all policies, and procedures that govern safety, and quality, are adhered too as directed by management. Operators will be responsible for keeping the work flow moving while work is available and will perform preventative maintenance and will assist with trouble shooting print errors and issues as needed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect equipment through the entirety of the 90 foot printing / finishing line to evaluate its operational status.
  • Read and follow instructions on Pre-Press Job Ticket thoroughly for proper machine set up.
  • Prepare Roll Fed Press for production: Check Ink Status, inspect paper webbing for rips or tears, perform machine set-up, load job set-ups on press and finishing equipment, and inspect secondary materials (water, coolant, waste)
  • Do preliminary print quality check of production output at the beginning
  • Monitor all Printer functions and maintain quality during the production run
  • At the end of job run will ensure that paper spoilage and extraction trim have been properly weighed
  • Complete paper work for individual job tickets: Recording net impressions and time for each print file, overall paper spoilage, paper roll tracking log, and Ink Usage sheet
  • Restock paper rolls and ink inventory
  • Empty and dispose of ink waste as needed
  • Re-web machine when needed
  • Change rolls and properly walk paper splice through
  • Clean $200,000 Print heads as instructed by management and perform periodic purges on Ink Heads.
  • Perform proper Preventive Maintenance on Roll Fed press and finishing equipment: Cleaning sensors, clean rollers, and vacuum finishing line
  • Perform various adjustments through the machines: Including moving cut sensors, trim blades, guides, and perforation units during both paper size changes and / or diagnosing errors and / or production problems
  • Notify third party technicians in the event of needed repairs & complete associated documentation
  • Proficiency with Print Management Software for releasing and managing print files
  • Proficiency with onboard press and finishing software used for job set up and troubleshooting
  • Be able to perform all duties of Cut Sheet Digital Press Operator I in order to assist with overall department production.

Required Knowledge & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college, Trade school or Vo-tech experience helpful
  • Previous print or press experience is desired but on the job training can be provided for otherwise skilled applicant

Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service.

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - A pre-tax Health Spending Account (HSA) is offered to those who enroll in the High Deductible Plan. It allows you to pay for health care expenses. Participation is elected on a calendar year basis and is available to all eligible employees the first of the month following the completion of 30 days of continuous service. Company contributes to HSA.

Short-Term Disability - Eligible employees may be entitled to salary continuance during periods of temporary disability. Benefits are based on employee status and years of service.*

Group Life and Long-Term Disability** - Eligible employees may elect life insurance and long-term disability coverage the first of the month following 30 days of continuous service.

Vacation and Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible for vacation upon the completion of six months of employment. In addition, the Company offers eight paid holidays.

Education Assistance - The Company supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth within their professional careers. We offer a reimbursement program for expenses incurred through approved institutions of learning. In addition, Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and International Claim Association (ICA) program courses are offered after the completion of six months of services at no cost to the employee.

Fitness Reimbursement - Eligible employees are able to receive up to 100% reimbursement for monthly dues (employee only).
